 Chris Reinford, Associate Pastor

Chris is our Associate Pastor who oversees the Youth Ministry (6th-12th grade) and supports Young Adult, College, Family, and Children’s ministries.
       Chris is a Licensed Minister in the Church of the Brethren and comes to Akron as a native of Lancaster County, having grown up in the Mohler Church of the Brethren (Ephrata, PA) and being a graduate of Ephrata High School.  Chris leads with a passion for seeing the Lord work through young people and a passion for seeing this work done in our surrounding communities and beyond.  Chris has a B.A. in Youth Ministry and Biblical Studies from Eastern University (St. David’s, PA).  Chris has six years of experience working with children and youth in a church setting.  He also has experience with camp ministry, media, computer technology, and biblical Greek.  Chris is very active and loves sports of all kinds.  He is a loyal Philadelphia sports fan.  Chris lives with his wife Chelsea, their son Asher, and dog Bentley in Rothsville, PA.

 Nelsa Lutz, Director of Children’s Ministries

Nelsa began as our Children’s Director in the Spring of 2012.  Prior to that time, she served as Head Master, CEO, and Chairman of the Board of a highly prestigious private Christian School in South Jersey.
   Besides her degrees in both education and administration, she minored in French and spent time in Paris.  She also studied in New York City for 5 years with a highly accredited Management Consulting firm.  She has been involved in Christian education almost all of her adult life.  Nelsa’s husband, Wayne, is a full time Biology Professor at Eastern University where he teaches Human Anatomy and Physiology.  Nelsa and Dr. Lutz raised their 4 children in Ocean City, NJ where Nelsa grew up.  They also share 9 grandchildren.
   “Being a grandmother is the best job she has ever had,” is a common quote by Nelsa.  They now have lived in Lancaster County for 5 years.
   Her life verse is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”  Her desire is to reach as many children with the teachings of Jesus Christ through His Holy Word.
